Capturing You In Action ~ Images by Jason and Tonja ~ Ashland Nebraska

Living life and making your mark.

When you find something that you love, you work to make your mark.  You pursue what you do with an unending passion.  You think about it when you wake and then again before you sleep.  It is something that you love to do and can’t imagine life without.

Passion for life sets you apart from those who just live the daily grind.  Seeing the potential the possibilities, feeling the energy, and finding the place inside you that you can pull from to give yourself the best chance of going the whole distance.

You may not be an Olympian.  You may just be inspired by one.  You may not be an athlete, you may just have the attitude of one.  You may have never won anything before, but you carry the heart of a champion inside you.

Pushing yourself to become the very best at something that you can be, while enjoying the process.  That is living.

We love working with High School Seniors.  You can see the thrill of the future in there eyes.  You can feel the anticipation of taking that next step.  We love sharing the power that seniors hold inside them.

Keenan Hahn has an obvious passion for being on the water.   We love creating images of our seniors who want us to capture them in unconventional places!

We are blessed,

Jason and Tonja

Before You Get Swept Under… Images by Jason and Tonja

We all know how it works when things start to pile up….

It often feels like you’ve been swept underwater and can’t get yourself out.  Since school is about to start in Nebraska I thought I’d take this opportunity to remind you to get your photo sessions booked for the year.  Check out that school calendar, your extra curricular activities and add in some time to get the images created.  Don’t wait another year, don’t wait until the last minute.. Now is the time!

We often went long stretches with out getting our pictures created by a professional.  I think Mom felt this was more important than Dad.  I am sure glad that she did.  We don’t have many family pictures, but we have a couple of them spaced out infrequently over the years.  I am grateful for everyone of them.  She is no longer with us, and hasn’t been for 10 years now.  Her family has grown a bit, and definitely grown up.  I haven’t included a family picture in this post, but I have several on the site that we’ve met to make.

This is also one of the reasons we feel that www.ShootsForACure.com is so important.  Do you know someone who’s been diagnosed with cancer?  Mom had it two times.  The first time she beat it.
We are Verified Photographers for Shoots For A Cure.  Here is a bit more about what we will do:
Any individual that has been diagnosed with cancer or completed treatment within the past 12 months qualifies for a Shoots for a Cure Session. Sessions are available to document the fight before treatment, during treatment or to celebrate the victory when treatment is completed.

Professional photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the cancer patient.

Clients participating in a Shoots for a Cure Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session. They will also receive a discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.

Learn a bit more here Shoots For A Cure

We have yet to do our first session so if you know of someone who would benefit.. please let us know about them, or better yet let them know about us!!  This is something near and dear to our hearts.

Don’t stay overwhelmed, but if you do start to go under…. Please know that we can follow you there!

Thanks to Riley for smiling so beautifully underwater with us!!

Can’t wait to get together with you for your photo session, whatever kind of session it may be!

We are blessed to serve,

Jason and Tonja

True beauty is when happiness exudes from you. – Images by Jason and Tonja Capturing Beautiful!

Happiness.

Is one of the most amazing emotions.  Your eyes sparkle, all of your cares are distant memories.  You have that all knowing feeling that everything is right with the world in this instant.  I really like knowing that in one instant, with the click of my shutter, this emotion is no longer fleeting.  It is a lasting memory now, something that you’ll remember every time you see your portrait of this moment.

I believe that images like these can help a person get through the bad times.  The days when you don’t feel that great, or the days you think life will never be the same as it was before.  You’ll always have those moments to remember.

The best part is as we each grow older and the inevitable changes occur in our lives, we can continue to make lasting memories that when all is said and done will be a reflection of an amazingly lived life.

Let your happiness shine it is a part of who you are.  Let us capture your happiness and give you a way to treasure that feeling at that moment forever.

True beauty is when happiness exudes from you... ~T

50 Years in LOVE! Images by Jason & Tonja Omaha Nebraska

Celebrating 50 Years!

The Waggoners!

Celebrating family, celebrating love, celebrating relationships.

Family means so much to many of us.  For me it does.  I remember attending my grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary.  I got to sing.  I am sure that I was one of the only one’s excited about that prospect.  Back then I thought I could sing… I now know that I don’t sing on key.  =D

I remember dressing up with my sisters and singing though, I remember the cake, my grandparents opening up all of these beautiful gold gifts, plates, and boxes, and other little keepsakes, we were in the basement of the Methodist Church in Merna, Nebraska.  In my mind it was a glorious affair.

Doris and Don Waggoner, are less traditional.  Of  course they wanted to share this moment with family and friends, their granddaughter performed in the auditorium, even though she wasn’t on the schedule of events.  I was lucky enough along with her grandfather to enjoy a special piano concert.  Their children were there with their children, we had gotten together a few weeks before the event to take some pictures of this gorgeous couple.

When Doris arrived she had her wedding dress along.  Yes she still fits in her dress.  She looks amazing.  She is a chic grandmother, who loves being active.  This couple isn’t what you’d typically picture celebrating their 50th Anniversary.  They wear cool clothing, they act like they are in their 40’s… Don’s motto for slowing down is that you can rest when you are dead.  They are Go Go Go!!

What fun!  They are to hang out with.  We are blessed to have them in our lives, we will forever treasure moments like these.

We hope you know amazing people like this in your life.  Family truly is a gift!  We just love our beautiful family!

Thanks for blessing us!

Being Real… at Images by Jason and Tonja in Ashland Nebraska, and Millard Nebraska!

How do you see yourself?

My name is Tonja and I think we often see ourselves in a way that isn’t accurate.  If you really take a second and assess all of your great qualities.  All of your good qualities, and those things that you are working on I think you’d often think better of yourself.

I think when I look at who a person is I focus on their potential, I see what they are capable of being, I make a point of being real, so that who ever is in my space will feel comfortable enough letting their guard down and letting me share through a visual medium who they are.

These images are something that is so powerful.  When you see a person’s confidence, a person’s strengths, their integrity, their sparkle through their eyes.  When you can share and embrace who you are as a person, you will be less likely to follow a wrong path.  Valuing one’s self is important.

I feel great satisfaction, when working with a client who didn’t realize they were so beautiful.  The moment they see themselves through the image I’ve been able to create for them is a priceless thing.  What makes it so powerful, is that it melts fear.  Part of knowing that you are alright as a person is recognizing that beauty with in yourself, and on the outside.

Reconciling the two is one of the greatest gifts we can allow ourselves to have.

Sierra is the perfect example of this.  A very smart, talented, athletic, and beautiful girl.  Who values who she is and what she is about.  It was a pleasure to work with her at her sessions, she is the kind of person who will give that 110%.

Being real, when you know who you are.

What a great message! Most people only know how to evaluate themselves based on what’s wrong or what they assume is the reason for what’s bad in their lives.

Thereasa Gwinn - August 6, 2012 - 2:06 am

I love this message! I need to remember this on those days that I’m feeling down. :)
